CONCORD, N.C. —
The city of Concord's annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony ended early after gunshots rang out, according to officials.
The shooting happened just before 7:30 p.m. Visitors were asked to leave the area.
Officials have not reported any injuries. No other details have been released at this time.

The ceremony began at 6 p.m. and the tree was scheduled to be lit at 8 p.m. A firework show was also scheduled for 8:20 p.m.
Concord's 97th Christmas Parade is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday. City officials have not said if the event will be rescheduled or canceled.
