GREENVILLE, S.C. —
The city of Greenville is one step closer to connecting Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport to downtown Greenville after the Greenville Transit Authority was awarded a $3.3 million federal grant.
The grant was awarded through the Federal Transit Administration's Buses and Bus Facilities Low or No Emission Program, and will fund the addition of four new compressed natural gas buses to the Greenlink SkyConnect project.
In a statement shared with WYFF4, Greenlink Director James Keel stated:
"As downtown Greenville becomes a more popular location to host conferences and events, we see this as an added amenity, so attendees don’t have to rely on rideshare or rent a car and can take full advantage of downtown Greenville’s walkable atmosphere."
