GREER, S.C. —

New data from the South Carolina Ports shows economic development across the state of South Carolina sits at a steady pace as the national industry braces for potential holiday impacts from tariffs and declines in import volumes.

The statewide industry recorded 206,859 TEUs, a technical term for the shipping containers that come into port, in October. This was a 1% year-over-year dip, although fiscal year volumes remain above plan.

President and CEO Micah Mallace said the ports will continue delivering reliable service as broad disruptions to trade persist.
