NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (KCRG) - A North Liberty man is working to carry on his wife’s legacy of kindness after her death.
Dave McGlaughlin first met his wife Jeanna while working together at West Music in Coralville.
“The punchline is I picked her out of a catalogue,” McGlaughlin said. “It just evolved from there into, she was my one person.”
The two were married for almost 30 years, but their time was unexpectedly cut short. Jeanna suffered a brain bleed and passed away in June of last year.
“There was a lot of kindness that she had left to give,” McGlaughlin said.
After her death, Jeanna continued to give. She was an organ donor, but for people who die outside of a hospital, certain organs can’t be donated unless someone calls the Iowa Donor Network within an hour of their death.
