PORTLAND, Ore. — The West Coast Health Alliance has issued a news release protesting changes made earlier this week to the website for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. An updated CDC webpage now falsely suggests a link between vaccines and autism, aligning with views previosly expressed by U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
NPR reported Friday that CDC scientists said they didn't change the website and the Department of Health and Human Services refused to say who gave the order. The New York Times subsequently reported that Kennedy had said in an interview that he had personally directed the CDC to change its position and the language on its website.
