DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Officials from the Fair Grove Fire Department have confirmed one of their longtime members, Michael Bodenheimer, was the 73-year-old man killed in a dog attack on Nov. 18.
The fire department extended its thoughts and prayers to Bodenheimer's family following the incident.
"Mike was a long time member of the Fair Grove Fire Department serving the Fair Grove community for many years," Fire Chief Robbie Binkley said. "This particular incident involving one of our own has hit the department pretty hard since several of our current members served with him . Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as well as our own members."
