GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police have cleared an area on Creekwood Drive after asking residents overnight to avoid an active scene.

Officers, firefighters and EMS crews responded around 9:30 p.m. to a reported family disorder in the 2000 block, according to police.

Authorities urged people to stay away while they investigated. Around 2:30 a.m., an emergency alert was sent to cell phones across the county. Police said the alert was intended for a limited area but was accidentally broadcast countywide.

Police say the situation on Creekwood Drive has been resolved and there is no threat to the community.

Officials have not released information about what led to the incident or whether anyone was hurt. The investigation is ongoing.
