As the opening week of the girls’ basketball season comes to a close, Peoria Notre Dame and Dee-Mack are riding high after notching tip-off tourney titles.
The Irish rolled to a dominant 58-29 victory over Mahomet in the Pontiac Turkey Tip-off; Lexi Baer led the way with nineteen points. The Chiefs went on the road and are bringing home the Cissna Park Tournament title after holding off the hosts 49-46; Dalia DeJesus led with eighteen points.
Also in Girls’ Basketball, Washington held off Peoria Richwoods in the Panthers’ home opener, while Morton rolled over Rock Island.
