Police have confirmed that officers received a report of malicious communications from a school in North Tyneside on Sunday. Kings Priory School in Tynemouth notified parents that it would be closed on Monday through the school's ParentMail channel last night.
The school said the closure was a precautionary measure and advised parents to await further updates, and said details would be shared when appropriate. Northumbria Police has confirmed that officers attended the site on Sunday, and later established there was "no credible threat" to the school, staff, or pupils.
