Police investigating a crash in St Helens on Sunday night have issued an update. At around 6.10pm on Sunday, November 23, Merseyside Police were called to reports of a crash involving a white van and a grey Volkswagen on Robins Lane in St Helens .

The grey Volkswagen was then abandoned on the street and the van drove off. It was further reported that, before the crash , a physical altercation took place involving a group of men. Police have now confirmed they believe the two incidents are linked.

No arrests have been made at this stage, police say and enquiries remain ongoing. Police shut Robins Lane for a short time on Sunday however have since confirmed it has reopened.
