Detectives in Maryland say they shut down a father-son firearms trafficking ring that had been operating across the state for months — and uncovered a stash of illegal guns and drugs along the way.
According to Howard County Police, investigators first got a tip in July about someone selling firearms throughout the region, prompting a massive investigation.
Undercover officers began making purchases, and during those transactions, police said they learned the seller was getting help from his father.
Detectives widened the investigation and uncovered even more.
Officers said the father was also distributing crack cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl while helping move illegal guns.
By October, police said the “family business” was shut down.
Detectives released photos showing what they recovered — including multiple handguns, an assault-style rifle, magazines, and dozens of rounds of ammunition, along with narcotics and packaging materials.
Police said Martese Kosh, 38, of Baltimore, was indicted on 10 counts of weapon charges.
His father, Ronald Kosh, 60, of Ellicott City, was indicted on 11 counts of weapon and drug charges, according to Howard County Police.
Detectives credited undercover work and months of surveillance for taking illegal weapons and dangerous drugs off the street.
The investigation is ongoing.
