VINTON, Va. (WDBJ) - Three people are displaced, and three cats were found dead in a house fire Monday, November 24, according to Roanoke County Fire & Rescue.
Firefighters responded at 12:31 p.m. to reports of a residential structure fire on the 300 block of N. Maple Street, where heavy smoke was visible.
Firefighters say they extinguished the fire in 10 minutes.
Two dogs were rescued from the house, and one dog was rushed to an emergency vet with life-threatening injuries, according to firefighters. Firefighters say three out of five cats were found dead.
The three displaced individuals are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
Roanoke Fire-EMS and Vinton Police assisted with the call.
The Roanoke County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and will provide a damage
