Speeding in a construction zone? It could cost you a hefty $500 ticket.
There’s new technology helping state troopers slow drivers down and keep construction workers safe.
If you’ve driven on any Kentucky interstate, you’ve likely seen it: construction everywhere.
And now, from the moment you enter a work zone, like the one on I-64 in Shelby County, a new system starts tracking your speed from camera to camera.
It’s called automated enforcement.
“If this tool helps encourage somebody just to slow down and be a little bit safer in the work zones so we can all get to where we need to get safely, then it’s worth it,” said KSP Sgt. Matt Sudduth.
