GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — All lanes of US-131 will be open in time for the holidays, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
Barrels and work zone signs will be removed from the freeway from 76th Street to 100th Street in Byron Township, opening all lanes and ramps.
The two-year project is rebuilding US-131 and adding weave/merge lanes between the 76th Street and 84th Street interchanges. This will extend and connect the on ramps to the off ramps between the interchanges.
Crews will install new traffic signals on 84th Street at the southbound US-131 ramps, plant trees and install final pavement markings when work resumes in the spring.
