More than 10,000 trainees and soldiers at Fort Jackson will enjoy a Thanksgiving feast on Nov. 26.
As is tradition, Army dining facilities across the nation — known as Warrior Restaurants — compete for top honors by adopting a theme for the day, one of which is the Thanksgiving holiday.
Preparations range from facility decorations and worker costumes to themed food selections in order to provide a memorable experience for the soldiers and trainees celebrating.
Thanksgiving feasts will begin at 11 a.m., and will be served by commanders, their staff and senior non-commissioned officers of each company.
Last year, the facilities served 3,000 lbs. of turkey and 2,400 lbs. of ham, as well as 5,000 pies (pumpkin, pecan and sweet potato). That's a lot to gobble up.
