CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A ribbon-cutting ceremony will celebrate the inaugural flight from Cape Girardeau to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

According to a news release from the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, the ceremony will start at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 1.

The inaugural flight is set to depart at 3:30 p.m.

They say there will be a ceremonial water cannon salute by the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, as well as remarks from guest speakers.

“This new flight to DFW is a game-changer for our region,” JoJo Stuart, CGI airport manager said in a news release. “It strengthens our connectivity, supports economic growth, and provides our travelers with more options and convenience.
