BEREA, Ohio — With strong winds, rain and snow forecast to sweep across Northern Ohio this week, the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission has issued a travel ban for high-profile vehicles along the entire 241-mile toll road beginning Wednesday morning.
According to a news release, the ban is scheduled to take effect at 8 a.m. Wednesday and will remain in place until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, or until officials determine conditions are safe enough to lift the restriction.
A high-profile vehicle is defined as anything taller than seven feet, six inches. This category includes a wide range of commercial and private vehicles considered more vulnerable to overturning in high winds, the news release says.
