FARGO — Sometimes a simple conversation can save a life.
Elvira Gentry, a checkout clerk at the 13th Avenue South Cash Wise in Fargo, is known for her bubbly personality and warm greetings.
But one conversation with longtime customer Pam Thorson turned out to be far more than friendly small talk.
When you walk into the 13th Avenue South Cash Wise in Fargo. There's no mistaking that familiar, friendly voice.
"Good morning! How you doing today?" Elvira Gentry says with a smile to a customer. "If you spend $40, you get $5 off, so don't forget that," Gentry says to another.
Gentry is working at Checkout No. 10 on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
"Good morning," she says again.
She's a fan favorite.
"To be jolly, fa la la la la, we have to put Christmas with it," Gentry said, singing the familiar song
