BAGLEY, Minn. — The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, Nov. 25, released video of a deadly officer-involved shooting earlier this month.
A sheriff's deputy shot and killed an Army veteran after a brief scuffle and chase. The 75-year-old’s family said the incident stemmed from ongoing issues with mental illness and post-traumatic stress disorder.
The events of Thursday, Nov. 13, all unfolded within four minutes in downtown Bagley.
It started as a normal conversation between Clearwater County Deputy Noah Hallman and 75-year-old Dennis Hoie of Bagley as Hoie gassed up his pickup. They talked about Hoie’s recent trip to the Veterans Affairs campus in Fargo.
