A teenage boy and a man have been charged with weapons offences after two stops in Birmingham by a dedicated police team at the weekend.
West Midlands Police ’s Project Guardian Team tackling youth violence and knife crime made two arrests on consecutive days last weekend after knife incidents in separate parts of the city.
Police from Project Guardian’s Team 2 spotted a man acting suspiciously in Barn Lane in Handsworth on Saturday (November 22) shortly before 4pm.
A 27-year-old man was arrested and 'a large machete’ was recovered.
He has been charged with the offence and possessing cannabis.
And has been bailed by police to appear at court on Thursday, December 4.
