A teenage boy has been injured in an early morning street attack. Police say it was reported that the 16-year-old was assaulted on High Street East, in Wallsend.
He suffered injuries to his hand, which officers say are not thought to be life-threatening. And police have now appealed for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 2am on Saturday November 15.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "At 2am on Saturday, November 15, we received a report of a disturbance on High Street East in Wallsend . It was reported that a boy, aged 16, had been approached by a man who then assaulted him with a bladed article.
“The offender then left the scene. The victim sustained injuries to his hand which were not believed
