Packed full of kids stuffing their faces, Denali Elementary School’s gym transformed on Tuesday for a Thanksgiving feast and celebration.
Rows of tables draped in orange tablecloths held autumnal bouquets. Dozens of cups of pink and regular lemonade sat waiting for thirsty students. A smorgasbord of desserts — cake, cookies, peppermint bark, rice crispy treats and of course pumpkin pie — were made and donated by Raven Landing.
In the cafeteria, True North Church volunteers served up all the fixings, corn, mashed potatoes, gravy rolls and meat from 23 turkeys donated by Northrim Bank.
It was “dress your best day” so in dresses, bowties and kuspuks the school kids made their way into the gym, two hands holding full plates.
