An 'immensely brave' woman has 'held up a mirror of justice' to the 'extremely dangerous' man who physically and mentally tortured her.

She declared violence against women 'needed to stop' as she condemned the 'disgusting actions' of her abuser, Nathan Russell.

During a horrendous catalogue of domestic abuse, Russell burnt his victim, covered her in food and urinated on her.

He would also force her to lick the toilet bowl, spit at her, tie her to chairs and tables, force her to eat from the floor or other surfaces and hit her.

The woman found the courage to come forward to police after disclosing the domestic abuse offences to a family member.
