DONALSONVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - The city of Donalsonville’s Fire Department is looking for cost-effective solutions as an Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating agency says they don’t have enough trained firefighters.

This comes after the city manager was told by their ISO rating agency that they are not meeting requirements to maintain their reasonable ISO 3 rating. Due to this, the rating agency said the city is at risk of an ISO 10, which could impact homeowners’ rates and coverage.

The fire chief proposed that they hire more firefighters, but this would also raise property taxes by about $400 annually on a $200,000 home.
