NEWPORT – Videos of Rogers High School students allegedly abusing a fellow student with special needs led the Newport School Committee on Nov. 26 to hire a former Rhode Island State Police commander to investigate.

In a unanimous vote, taken when the School Committee was in executive session, members chose to hire Steven O'Donnell to carry out an independent full review of recent incidents at the high school.
