Honoring local Black soldiers who fought for freedom during the Civil War. The Berlin police chief donated a special GI-Joe figurine to be part of a display to highlight the contributions of those soldiers in the town museum.

Inside the Berlin Historical Society, a display that’s part of the Connecticut Freedom Trail stands prominently. The contributions of 11 Black Civil War soldiers from Berlin put in the spotlight for visitors to see.
