There’s nothing better than gathering around a table to share a home cooked meal with friends new and old, and that’s what three Fairbanks businesses and non-profits provided for free this Thanksgiving.

Big Daddy’s BarB-Q

Big Daddy’s BarB-Q owners Jeff and Jenn Oden have been smoking birds for days. They sent 21 turkeys to the food bank, more out to families and 50 were prepared for the expected 500 people to pass through their restaurant on Thanksgiving day.

This is the second year they’ve done this and they came more than prepared. In addition to the turkeys they smoked 18 hams, made cornbread, dressing and pumpkin pie, and Jeff’s favorite: sweet potato soufflé.
