ELLSWORTH TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A family in Ellsworth Township has been displaced following a house fire late Thursday night.
Ellsworth Fire Department Assistant Chief Zach Williams tells 21 News the fire started in a home on Western Reserve Road around 11 p.m. Thursday.
Williams says the fire started in the kitchen and two kids in the home ran over to the neighbor's house to call 911. Several departments responded to assist including Canfield, Green, Berlin, Damascus, Jackson and Milton.
The fire spread to one smaller room next to the kitchen before crews were able to put it out. The rest of the house sustained smoke damage.
Williams says two kids, two adults and two dogs were in the home at the time of the fire. All escaped with no injuries, and no firefighters were injured at the scene.
