MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Shots rang out in East Memphis on Friday after a loose dog reportedly charged at a neighbor who was walking his own.
The shooting left the loose dog with multiple gunshot injuries. The Memphis Police Department says they only have the owner’s side of the story because the alleged gunman fled the scene before officers arrived.
According to the police report, officers were dispatched to Amboy Road in the Colonial Acres neighborhood at noon for a misdemeanor vandalism call.
There, they met with a resident who said he was inside his house when he heard approximately four gunshots coming from outside.
He told police that he walked outside to find his dog, “Bella,” visibly injured alongside his neighbor, who was walking his own dog.
