CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - The steady snowfall throughout the day cancelled many events for Small Business Saturday, but the weather didn’t stop everyone.

For Kim Stovie, it wasn’t a matter of if but when she was going to show up at the Made in Iowa Holiday Market.

“We’re gonna go no matter what, it was just a matter of start time,” Stovie said. “Usually we like to get here early because there are a lot of people who like to support local.”

This year the market’s hosting around 175 small business vendors in Hawkeye Downs. While many events for Small Business Saturday cancelled in the face of a heavy weekend snowfall, the holiday market kept on schedule.

“We’re just wanting people to be safe and if they feel like venturing out and want something to do, we’re here for them,” said Cynthi
