BETHEL- Susan Brown Otto, the recently re-elected Town of Bethel Tax Collector and a well-known community volunteer, died on November 16, 2025, following a brief battle with advanced pancreatic cancer. She was 68.
Born in 1957 and raised on her family’s dairy farm in Kenoza Lake, Susan Brown Otto built a distinguished career in international tax accounting, working for Price Waterhouse and Arthur Anderson before founding her own firm, International Tax Advisory Services. After returning to Sullivan County in 2003, she became widely recognized for her Kenoza Lake News column in The Sullivan County Democrat and her involvement in local civic life.
