A Westchester County man has been charged by the State Police with sharing videos depicting child sexual abuse.

Following a long-term investigation by the New York State Police BCI at Somers and the Troop K Computer Crimes Unit, officers arrested 34-year-old Andrew J. Giannetta of Somers.

The investigation began in February 2024 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted police via a CyberTipline report about suspected child sexual exploitation material circulating on a social media platform. After reviewing the evidence and consulting with the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, investigators arrested Giannetta on Wednesday and charged him with two felony counts of promoting an obscene sexual performance involving a child under 17.
