With signs pointing to Lane Kiffin taking the LSU head coaching job, Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding is reportedly in line to be the Rebels' interim coach.

Kiffin isn't expected to coach Ole Miss during this season's College Football Playoff according to CBS Sports, with sources saying that Golding is expected to be named interim coach for the remainder of the 2025 season.

Some members of the current Ole Miss coaching staff appear set to follow Kiffin to LSU. Golding, who has been the Rebels' defensive coordinator since 2023, isn't expected to be one of them.

Kiffin has lined up most of his offensive coaching staff according to On3, with the report saying that coaches were told "they won't have a spot on the staff" if they aren't on a plane to Baton Rouge.
