Oswego, N.Y. — An overnight fire heavily damaged a bar and grill and injured a firefighter early Sunday morning in Oswego.

Around 3:10 a.m. a fire alarm activated at Cheap Seats Bar & Grille at 6 Hillside Ave., according to City of Oswego Fire Chief Paul Conzone. Firefighters arrived and found smoke showing from the building and a fire toward the back of the building.

Firefighters battled flames in the rear of the building, fighting from inside to attack what Conzone described as a “large volume of fire.”

The fire was under control around 6 a.m., Conzone said. The building sustained significant interior damage in the area where the fire originated. One firefighter suffered a minor injury, he said.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
