A man walked away without injuries after his truck struck a telephone pole and rolled over in Dutchess County when he swerved to avoid an animal.
The crash happened in Red Hook at around 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, on Route 9G near Peach Tree Court, the Red Hook Police Department said on Sunday, Nov. 30.
According to the department, a 2022 GMC dual-wheel pickup was heading north when the driver swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. The move caused the truck to leave the road, hit a pole, and overturn.
Police said the 49-year-old driver, a Tivoli resident, was not hurt.
Tivoli Fire Department, Empress EMS, New York State Police, and Central Hudson assisted at the scene.
