MARTHA, Ky. (WSAZ) - The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Critical Incident Response team was requested by KSP Post 14 in Ashland after a trooper involved shooting.

Troopers say the shooting happened late Saturday evening in Lawrence County.

The preliminary investigation shows Post 14 troopers were working to locate a female who had active arrest warrants for an assault charge.

Troopers say they received information that the female was at a residence along KY-1715 in Martha, Kentucky.

When troopers arrived on the scene, they were confronted by a man in a different residence.

Troopers say that man then told them to, “turn their lights off or he would shoot them out.”
