MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. — After a widespread, impactful snowstorm across West Michigan this weekend, attention is quickly turning to heavy lake-effect snow.

Unlike the storm this past weekend, this snow event will be very localized and truly only impact a few counties.

Snow totals look to be impressive though and snowfall rates could be on the order of 1 to 3 inches an hour in this intense lake-effect band.

Muskegon, Ottawa and Oceana counties are expected to take the brunt of this lake-effect snowstorm which is set to begin Monday afternoon.

Heavy, localized lake-effect snow will persist in this region into Tuesday morning, allowing for snow to stack up yet again.
