A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 9 p.m. for lake effect snow until 10:15 p.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie as well as Crawford County.

"At 8:59 p.m., radar indicated an intense lake effect snow band along a line extending from 7 miles southeast of Northwest Harborcreek to Mentor, moving southeast at 15 mph," says the weather service.

Locations impacted by the alert include Cleveland, Erie, Painesville, Ashtabula, Willowick, Meadville, Conneaut, Chardon, Fairport Harbor, Geneva-On-The-Lake, Parma, Lakewood, Euclid, Mentor, Cleveland Heights, North Royalton, Solon, Willoughby, Twinsburg and Eastlake.
