GREENSBORO, N.C. — The family of 22-year-old Mircedezes Edwards says they are grateful an arrest has been made — though the news brings little comfort — as they continue to grieve her death from an October shooting on New Garden Road in Greensboro .
Edwards was shot and killed on Oct. 17 in the 1900 block of New Garden Road. Officers responded around 10:25 p.m. and found her unresponsive. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but she died at the scene. Police initially described the shooting as accidental.
On Monday, Greensboro police announced they have charged Jordan Marks, 22, with second-degree murder in Edwards’ death.
