On Monday at 1:57 a.m. a winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service valid for Tuesday between 3 a.m. and 1 p.m. for Montour and Northumberland counties.
"Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches," can be expected according to the weather service. "Snowfall rates approaching 1 inch per hour are possible."
"Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning commute," says the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1."
