The BBC Scotland headquarters in Glasgow has been evacuated this morning after a fire broke out in the building. ‌

It is believed the blaze was discovered in a plant room on the fifth floor of the Pacific Quay building at roof level. ‌

A fire alarm went off at around 6:30am on Monday, December 1, and all staff were forced to leave the building. ‌

BBC Radio Scotland Breakfast was taken off air and breakfast television bulletins were suspended while staff were evacuated from the building.

The Breakfast show switched to pre-recorded music and is now playing Radio 5 Live.

Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment. ‌
