LEXINGTON, Ky. — Mark Stoops is out as head football coach of the University of Kentucky after 13 seasons, according to multiple reports.

ESPN's Pete Thamel reported Sunday night the process to fire Stoops will play out Monday. Stoops is the all-time Kentucky wins leader, but posted records of 4-8 and 5-7 the last two seasons.

Stoops won just three SEC games in that span. He was 82-80 overall.

According to the terms of Stoops' contract, he is owed $38 million within 60 days of his firing. However On3 Sports' Chris Low reported Stoops and the university are working on a separation agreement allowing that sum to be paid over an extended period of time.

The Wildcats were shut out 41-0 by rival Louisville on Saturday. UK finished 5-7 (2-6 SEC).
