A 70-year-old man was struck and killed by an SUV Wednesday evening while walking along an Upper Bucks County road.

The deceased was identified by the Bucks County Coroner’s Office as Wayne Carl Kelchner. Kelchner was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital-Upper Bucks for treatment of injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

Trooper Nathan Branosky, public information officer with Pennsylvania State Police’s Troop M, said the accident happened around 5 p.m. in the 1700 block of Allentown Road. A 55-year-old female driver was operating a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer that struck Kelchner, Branosky said.
