Syracuse, N.Y. -- Just a few days after seeing record-breaking snowfall , Upstate New York is expected to get another round of snow on Tuesday.

The snowfall from Tuesday’s storm will be lighter but more widespread than what fell in the lake effect storm on Thursday and Friday.

Syracuse is likely to get 2 to 5 inches through Tuesday evening, according to National Weather Service forecasts. Higher elevations, including the Tug Hill plateau and the Catskills, could see 6 to 12 inches.

The snow is likely to start tonight in the western portion of the state, then spread east and north through the morning. The heaviest snow is expected from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., potentially snarling the drive to work on Tuesday.
