An individual from southwestern Ontario is charged with a domestic assault in West Nipissing.
The OPP said officers responded around 4 p.m. Friday to a disturbance between two intimate partners at a residence.
“Information was provided to police about past intimate partner violence, in which one person was assaulted that had required medical attention, property was damaged, and a threat was made by the other partner,” the OPP said.
A 37-year-old individual from Norfolk was charged with assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats and two counts of mischief.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay.
The OPP is not releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victims.
