A community cleanup tackles trash, one street at a time

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A local street was kept safe from litterbugs today.

BA Feminists Gainesville hosted a community cleanup this afternoon on the street they adopted, North-East 16th Ave.

Member Beth Holtom told TV20 that they started the initiative back in June to make the neighborhood a cleaner place.

She says they host a cleanup every other month, and provide gloves, garbage bags and grabbers to volunteers.

The group encourages anyone in the community to participate, saying quote “Every hand makes a difference.”
