A 'hero' army sergeant was killed after a row in a pub beer garden that erupted over chicken wings. Paul Ainscough, 57, who served in the British Army for 24 years, was tragically found dead at his home on June 24 last year.

It came two days after he had been assaulted by a friend at the pub after the row broke out about food they were eating. The investigation stepped up when Paul's son uncovered messages on his phone.

He found messages which Paul had exchanged with Liam Slack. The messages indicated there had been an argument between the pair when they had been out drinking together in Leyland on the afternoon of June 22.
