STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A nor’easter is expected to impact New York state Tuesday, bringing mostly rain to New York City, while some areas to the north and west see snowfall, according to AccuWeather senior meteorologist John Feerick.
“The perception is nor’easter comes with a lot of snow. I don’t think that’s gonna be the case, at least for Staten Island,” Feerick said. “There’s not enough cold air in place. It looks like it’s going to be mostly just rain for our area.”
The New York City area will remain dry through Monday night and into the Tuesday early morning commute. The rain is expected to begin between 8 and 10 a.m. Tuesday.
