Mikael Forssell was almost speechless on his first return to St Andrew’s since leaving Birmingham City in 2008.

The Fin was one of Blues’ special guests at the Norwich City fixture on November 22 which marked the club’s 150th anniversary.

Forssell, now 44, was taken aback by the transformation St Andrew’s has undergone in recent years thanks to the investment of owners Knighthead.

“I can't believe this is the same place,” said Forssell. “It still has the same spirit but what the owners have done looks amazing.

“The club is heading in the right direction in every way. You can see how much the owners have invested in this place. Where the club is going is amazing.
