Aston Villa could snap up one of Scotland's most promising emerging talents at the end of the season after Rangers failed to tie him down on a new contract.
Teenager Bailey Rice became the youngest post-war league player to appear for the club, aged 16 years and 137 days, when he made his debut against Livingston in 2023.
However, Rangers have failed to agree a new contract with the Scotland U21 international, paving the way for the 19-year-old to leave for nothing at the end of the season.
According to the Mail , Villa have already checked on the availability of the 6ft 1" defensive midfielder, as have Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and Cardiff City, who are all aware of his current contract situation.
